A flower bed is in the shape of a triangle with one side twice the length of the shortest side and the third side is 19 feet more than the length of the shortest side. Find the dimensions if the perimeter is 131 feet

Answer:

Shortest= 28ft

Length=56 ft

Third side=47 ft

Explanation:

Let the shortest side be x then the length of the other side that is twice the shortest side will be 2x

The third side being 19 ft more than the shortest side will be x+19

Perimeter is found by adding all the three sides, A=l+w+h hence

X+2x+x+19=131 ft

4x+19=131 ft

4x=112 ft

X=112/4=28 ft

2x=2*28=56

X+19=28+19=47

To prove, if we add 28+56+47=131 ft
