Answer:

x = 16

Explanation:

to evaluate for the value of x in the question

3/4(x-4)=9

the first step

use 3 to open the bracket

we have,

3/4 ( x - 4) = 9

3x -12/4 = 9

cross multiply to have a straight equation

3x - 12 = 4 x 9

3x - 12 = 36

3x = 36 + 12

3x = 48

divide both sides by the coefficient of x which is 3

3x/3 = 48/3

x = 16
