Multiplication and division property of exponents.

Explanation:

If we want to multiply the powers which is having the same base. Then we have to apply the Multiplication property of the exponents as,

x^(m) * x^(n), since the base is the same x, we can add the powers as,

=
$x^(m+n)

If we want to divide the powers with the same base, then we have to apply the division property of the exponents as,

$ (x^(m) )/(x^(n)) , since the base is the same x, we can subtract the powers as,

=
$x^(m-n)

In case x is 2 and m is 3 and 4 then the product can be written as,
2^(3+4) = 2^(7),

On dividing, m = 4 and n = 3 then we will get,
$ 2^(4-3) = 2^(1) = 2
