Randall's bag: 68 pounds

Seth's bag: 40 pounds

Joanna's bag: 52 pounds

Explanation:

Given,

Randalls bag: 3x-7 pounds

Seth's bag: 2x-10 pounds

Joanna's bag: 2x+2 pounds

Also given that,

Randall's and Joanna's bags weigh 3 times as much as Seth's bag. Therefore

(Randall's bag + Joanna's bags) = 3* (Seth's bag)

By putting the values in equation, we get:

(3x - 7 + 2x + 2) = 3* (2x - 10)

=> (5x - 5) = (6x - 30)

=> -5 + 30 = 6x - 5x

=> 25 = x

or

x = 25

We can get the thrash weight of each friend after putting the value of x

Randalls bag: 3x-7 = 3(25) - 7 = 75 -7 = 68 pounds

Seth's bag: 2x-10 = 2(25) - 10 = 50 - 10 = 40 pounds

Joanna's bag: 2x+2 = 2(25) +2 = 50 + 2 = 52 pounds
