from left side of point P(1,0) graph is above x-axis and from right side of point Q(5,0) graph is above x-axis . Hence , Positive interval is

( -∞ , 1) & ( 5 , ∞ ) . Correct option is D.

Here we have , We need to find the interval of positive of the graph as :

In order to find the positive interval we will see following things in the graph

  • In the graph we will see where does the graph cut x - axis and how many times do they cut
  • Now , we will see the points where graph cut x-axis , and will see on which side of x -axis is graph above x-axis ( i.e. being positive ).

From the graph given in question , We can see that graph cut x-axis at points :


P(1,0)\\Q(5,0)
