- Don't smoke, consume alcohol, or use drugs that aren't verified to be safe by your doctor while pregnant or breastfeeding.

- Avoid caffeine, processed or raw meats, high-mercury fish, and organ meat.

- Take multivitamins or vitamins specifically made for pregnant women.

- Avoid high-stress situations, get plenty of sleep, and don't skip meals while pregnant.

- Regularly visit with the doctor to stay updated on the baby's development.
