Diameter of rug = 11 feet

We need to find the area covered in living room by the rug.

Solution:

Diameter of rug = 11 feet

Radius is half of the diameter.

Radius of the rug =
(11)/(2)=5.5\ ft

Now it has been given that rug is in circular shape.

So we will find the area of the rug using Area of circle formula which is given by π times square of the radius.

Framing in equation form we get;

area of the rug =
\pi r^2 = 94.99\ ft^2 \approx 95\ ft^2

Hence The rug has covered approximately 95 square feet of the living room.
