A fish tank with a rectangle base has a volume of 3,360 cubic inches. The length and width of the tank are 14 and 12 inches, respectively. Find he height, in inches, of the tank

The height of the tank is 20 inches.

Explanation:

The fish tank is a parallelepiped wich volume equals to the product of it's three dimensions, the width, length and height. So the formula to the volume is:

V = width*length*height

In this problem we know the volume, the width and the length and we want to know the height, so we can isolate the variable we want to know, such as:

height = V/(width*length) = 3360/(14*12) = 3360/168 = 20 inches

The height of the tank is 20 inches.
