Explanation:


-(1)/(9) + (-(5)/(9) )

Since you have two negative fractions you add them together and put a negative sign in front of the fraction.

1+5=6 so you have


-(6)/(9) Now you have to simplify 6 and 9 are both divisible by 3 so divide both by 3 separately and then put it back in fraction form

-6÷3=-2

9÷3=3 back in fraction form


-(2)/(3) You can't simplify any more so
-(2)/(3) is your answer
