A bill for Florida to stay in daylight saving time throughout the year is being referred to Governor Rick Scott after being passed the Senate by 33-2 votes on Tuesday, the 6th.
If Scott passes the Sunshine Protection Act, Congress will have to make an amendment to the existing federal law to let the change happen.
While the rest of the eastern United States would have to set the clock back by an hour in the fall, Florida will remain more sunny in the late afternoon during the winter. Northwest Florida continues in the Central time zone.
Hawaii, much of Arizona and several territories in the United States are not in daylight saving time.
