For a moving object, the force acting on the object varies directly with the object's acceleration. When a force of 30 N acts on a certain object, the acceleration of the object is 5 m/s^2 . If the force is changed to 48 N , what will be the acceleration of the object?

Answer:

The value of acceleration when force is changed to 48 N is =
a_(2) = 8
(m)/(s^(2) )

Explanation:

Force
F_(1) = 30 N

Acceleration
a_(1) = 5
(m)/(s^(2) )

Force
F_(2) = 48 N

Now Acceleration
a_(2) = ??

Given that the force acting on the object varies directly with the object's acceleration.

⇒ F ∝ a

(F_(1) )/(a_(1) ) = (F_(2) )/(a_(2) )

Put all the values in above formula we get

(30)/(5) = (48)/(a_(2) )

a_(2) = 8
(m)/(s^(2) )

This is the value of acceleration when force is changed to 48 N.
