Number should be 2 instead of x .

Explanation:

Here we have , Jonas has the following data: 2, 5, x, 2, 4, 3. if the average is 3, We need to find what number should be instead x . Let's find out:

We know that

Average = ((x_1+x_2+x_3+...........+x_n))/(n)

Where
x_1, x_2,x_3,.....,x_n is terms and n is the number of terms . Let's find average for 2, 5, x, 2, 4, 3 which is 3 :

Average = ((x_1+x_2+x_3+...........+x_n))/(n)

3 = ((2+5+x+2+4+3))/(6)

3(6) = ((16+x))/(6)(6)

18= 16+x

x=2

Therefore , Number should be 2 instead of x .
