Answer:

$5.25

Explanation:

The question says that a family probably attended an event(they probably went to watch a movie show) and ordered for 5 bags of popcorn and 5 drinks at the theater.

And it also says that each drink costs $1.75 dollars and a bag of popcorn costs?.

But we were given the equation which models the relationship as 5(x+1.75)=35.

With this equation we will be able to find out how much each bag of popcorn costs and if possible,we can also calculate how much 10 bags of popcorn and 9 drinks costs and vice versa all just for fun.

Back to business,

5(x+1.75)= 35

Open up the bracket and we will have:

5x+8.75= 35

Subtract 8.75 from both side:

5x+8.75 - 8.75= 35 - 8.75

5x= 26.25

Now divide both sides by 5 so as to get x

5x/5= 26.25/5

X= $5.25

Therefore,the price of each bag of popcorn is $5.25
