Many men were enlisted for the war. Since labour forces for the factories to function were mostly operated by men, this left a hole in the supply source, especially for the war.

This is when women enters the workforce to replace their husbands/men to fill up the hole that was left when the war began. Their replacement in the workforce was important, as the lack of supply and resources will be detrimental in the efforts of the war.
