A 50-ft ladder is placed directly against the side of a large building. The base of the ladder is resting on ice, and it slips away from the building at a rate of 3 ft per minute. How fast is the top of the ladder slipping down the wall at the instant when the base of the ladder is 30 ft from the building?

Answer: In 16 Minutes the ladder will hit the ground.

Explanation:

50 is at the top of the building.

the base is 30 feet from the building. If the top of the ladder is falling 3 ft every minute in 16 minutes it will hit the ground.
