To find the slope, we must have two points

--> Two points: (-3,1) and (-1, -5)

The slope's formula is -->
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

  • (x1, y1) --> (-3,1)
  • (x2, y2) --> (-1, -5)

So the slope =
(-5-1)/(-1--3) =(-6)/(2) =-3

The line graphed below has a slope of -3

Hope that helped!
