Answer:

y = -x

Explanation:

The slopes of parallel lines are equal

y = -x +5

The slope is -1 so the parallel also has a slope of -1

The equation of a line in slope intercept form is

y = mx+b

y = -1x +b

Substituting in the point (4,-4)

-4 = -1(4) +b

-4 = -4+b

Add 4 to each side

-4+4 = -4+4 +b

0=b

y = -x
