Given:

Right triangle with base 12 cm and height is x.

θ = 35°

To find:

The value of x.

Solution:

Base = Adjacent side = 12 cm

Height = Opposite side = x

Using basic trigonometric ratio formula:

$\tan \theta =\frac{\text{Opposite side of} \ \theta}{\text{Adjacent side of} \ \theta}

$\tan35^\circ =(x)/(12)

The value of tan 35° = 0.7

$0.7=(x)/(12)

Multiply by 12 on both sides.

$0.7* 12 =(x)/(12)* 12

$8.4 =x

The value of x is 8.4 cm.
