Explanation:

First you have to find the slop of the line by dividing Y2-Y1 [6-(-2) and X2-X1 [-4-(-8)], which will be two once simplified. this is the slope. the equation is then y=2x+b. then, we must find b. in order to do this, we must insert two of the points from the ordered pairs. I inserted the points from the second one [-8=2(-4)+b] 2*-4=-8. 8+6=14. b=14. We must then plug in this to the original equation, and the final one will be y=2x+14.
