An animal park has lions, tigers,and zebras. 20% of the animals are lions and half the animals are zebras. If there are 120 animals at the park, how many lions are there?

Explanation:

If there are 120 animals in the park, first figure out how many zebra there are. 120/2 = 60.

So we know that there are 60 zebras and 60 unknown animals left. Then again if we multiply 20% or 0.20 by 120, we get 24 for the lions. Then if we want to figure out tigers, we just add 60+24 which equals 84, then the remainder of the animals left are tigers.

So in conclusion...

60 zebras, 24 lions, 36 tigers.
