we know that


sin(\theta)=(y)/(x) ----> by SOH (opposite side divided by the hypotenuse)

Remember that

we have


y=2\ ft


x=8\ ft\ 6\ in=8+(6/12)=8.5\ ft

substitute


sin(\theta)=(2)/(8.5)

using a calculator


m\angle \theta=sin^(-1)((2)/(8.5))=14^o
