There are several important clauses or combinations in the Constitution that create opportunities for a more expansive national role, the government national to follow such a path. These clauses include:
An "accurate and appropriate" clause empowers the government national to engage in necessary activities - "accurate and adequate" - to run existing resources.
"General welfare" clause authorizes the national government to engage in activities that support or general well-being of the parents.
An "interstate commerce" clause allows the government regular national activities between states.
"Equal protection of rights" clause in the 14th discriminatory action to the national government may exist in states, such as racial discrimination designation of children in schools.
These clauses raise the possibility for the national government to engage in activities other than those mentioned in the Constitution. If aspects of educational policy, for example, principal considered as part of "general well-being" or subject to "equal protection of laws", the national government can use this as basis for direct involvement in educational policy.
