Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find which one of the

Given:-

Altitude (AB) = 9cm

Base (BC) = 12cm

To Find

Hypotenuse (AC) = ?


\fbox \text{According To Pythagoras Theorem = }


\text{(Hypotenuse)² = (Altitude)² + (Base)²}

Inserting The Values


\text{(Hypotenuse)²} =( {9})^(2) + (12) {}^(2) \\ \\ \implies \text{(AC)} {}^(2) = 81 + 144 \\ \\ \implies \text{(AC}) {}^(2) = 225 \\ \\ \implies \text{AC} = √(225) \\ \\ \implies \text{AC} = 15


\therefore \text{Hypotenuse \: (AC)} = 15 \text{cm}

Option B= 15cm is the correct answer
