Simplify 6(x-1)

Apply the distributive property.

6x+6•-1=18x

Multiply 6 by -1

6x-6=18x

Move all terms containing x to the side of the equation.

Subtract 18x from both sides of the equation.

6x-6-18x=0

Subtract 18x from 6x

-12x-6=0

Add 6 to both sides of the equation.

-12x=6

Divide each term by- 12 and then simplify.

x=-1/2
