a^(2)+
b^(2)=
c^(2)

Where a is the 20cm side and b is the base which is 48 cm and c is the hypotenuse of the triangle. Let's solve it;


20^(2) +48^(2) = c^(2)

now lets expand the following equation:

400 + 2304 =
c^(2)

2704 =
c^(2)

thus c= 52 and that's the answer.
