Review: Remember that a line written in y = mx + b format will always be a perfect straight line. If there are two equations, then it is called a systems because there are more than one. If we want to find out if and where they intersect (cross), then we can set them equal to each other and solve to find the exact coordinates. Set the following equations equal to each other to find the coordinates of their intersection: y = -12x + 9 and y= -12x + 17. EXPLAIN how you know that they will or will not intersect AND then provide two equations of your own that WILL NOT INTERSECT. **If you do not give me a valid explanation, then you will not receive full credit.** I have provided a picture link of a similar example to refresh your memories of solving systems of equations. :) :) *

y=-12x+9 and y=-12x+17
-12x+9=-12x+17 Because they are both set equal to y
Subtract the 9 from the left and add the -12x from the right to get: 0=8
This is not true, so the lines don’t intersect. You can also tell this because they have the same slope, but different y-intercepts. Another pair of equations that don’t intersect is y=2x+4 and y=2x+9
