1
(3)/(4) cups of sugar is used in 1 cake.

Explanation:

Given,

10
(1)/(2) cups of sugar is used in 6 cakes.

To find the amount of sugar used in one cake.

10
(1)/(2) =
(21)/(2) cups

We apply unitary method.

Now,

In 6 cakes 10
(1)/(2) cups of sugar is used.

The sugar used in 1 cake =
(21)/(2)÷ 6 cups

=
(21)/(2) ×
(1)/(6)

=
(7)/(4) = 1
(3)/(4) cups of sugar
