The inherent and the added filtration in the x-ray tube functions to reduce the patient skin dose.

Step-by-step explanation:

X-ray tube works for the release of X-ray beam in a desired dosage. Sometimes, the dose can be high due to variation in voltage. So filters are used in the X-ray tube, so adjust the dosage of X-ray getting incident on the patient skins. The filters are also used to reduce the scattering of the X-ray beam on the patient skin and thus to get a cleaner image.

Two kinds of filters are mostly used, they are inherent filters and added filters. Inherent filters are already in built in the X-ray tube and the added filters are thin films of different materials used according to the necessity of the patient.

Thus, the inherent and the added filtration in the x-ray tube functions to reduce the patient skin dose.
