For this case we have that the initial measurement of the rope is:

x_ {i} = 6 \ m

If a piece measuring 1.21 meters long is cut we have that the final measurement of the rope will be:

x_ {f} = x_ {1} -1.21\\x_ {f} = 6-1.21\\x_ {f} = 4.79

Thus, the final measurement of the rope is
4.79 \ m

Answer:

4.79 meters
