Many traditions and culture of the Vietnamese was either modified, or lost after being integrated/assimilated/marginalized in the American society.

Answer:

Before:

-Many of them lived in big families under the same roof.

-Parents had full control and authority over their children

-Children showed respect and rarely rejected their parents' wishes.

-Most were farmers with little education opportunities

After:

-Families were split up and sent to different states or regions.

-Women had strong rights, gender and sex were equal.

-Since children became interpreters for parents for the English language, it weakened their authority.

-Many Hmong are now graduating from Universities and gaining careers.
