Developmental adaptation

Step-by-step explanation:

Developmental adaptation is the ability of an organism to change to the environment by changing or modifying its phenotype acquired over the period of growth and development.

Examples:

People living in high altitudes usually tend to have larger chest dimensions with increased lung capacity than people living in low lands. This is to incorporate increased lung volume and meet with the increased oxygen demands at high altitude regions, where the oxygen content decreases naturally.

Lack of oxygen will cause altitude sickness and breathing difficulties. To meet this environmental stress, the lungs of high altitude people undergo developmental adaptation.
