Answer:

1/3 of a tank will be used

1/3 of a tank will be left

Explanation:

Let's say that the total tank of gas is x

If Chase's dad has 2/3 of that amount of gas in his tank, it means he has 2/3 × x = 2/3x

He uses half of what he has in his tank for a business trip i.e. he uses 1/2 of 2/3x = 1/2 × 2/3 = 2/6x or 1/3x.

Therefore, he uses 1/3 of a whole tank (x) for his business trip.

Since he used 1/3x for his business trip, he will be left with the amount he used subtracted from the amount he had in his tank i.e. 2/3x - 1/3x = 1/3x.

This means that Chase's dad will also have 1/3 of a tank left after his business trip.
