Answer: 13

Explanation:

add everything together and make it equal to the perimeter

(4x - 8) + (2x + 3) + x = 30

add the x’s together

7x - 8 + 3 = 30

add the normal numbers (lol idk how to call them)

7x - 5 = 30

solve for x

7x - 5 = 30

+5 +5

_________

7x = 35

__ ___

7 7

_________

x = 5

then solve for each side:

2x + 3

2(5) + 3

10 + 3

13

4x - 8

4(5) - 8

20 - 8

12

x = 5 (duhhh)

so out of all of these, 2x + 3 is the longest side and it’s length is 13 so that’s the answer :)
