You have two samples of radioactive Carbon-14.

Sample A is 100g and Sample B is 200g. Which sample will have a longer length half-life?

A : Sample A will have a longer half-life because it has less radioactive material.

B: Sample B will have a longer half-life because it has more radioactive material.

C: Both samples will have the same length half-life because the length of a half-life does not depend on the size of the sample.

D: The half-lives of both samples cannot be determined.

Hey there!

Your answer is C. Both samples will have the same length half-life because the length of half-life does not depend on the size of the sample.

It is the same substance, so its properties do not change because of the amount of the substance.

Carbon-14 still has 14 neutrons and protons in each atom regardless of how many atoms there are.

Hope this helps!
