Answer: y = (9-x) / 8

Explanation:

set f(x) = y

y = -8x + 9

to find inverse repalce all y values with x and x values with y then solve for y again

x = -8y + 9

x - 9 = -8y

y = (x-9) / -8

distribute -1 through the numerator and make 8 positive

y = -x+9/8

y = (9-x)/8

Answer:

y=(x-9)/(-8)

Explanation:

1. change f(x) to y

2. switch x and y

x= -8y+9

3. solve for y

x-9=-8y

y= (x-9)/(-8)
