Hi I need help for my math class it’s due Saturday!

The mass of riboflavin in one small serving (75 g) of raw almonds is 0.87 mg less
than the mass of riboflavin in 21 small servings of raw almonds. What is the mass 2
of riboflavin in one small serving of raw almonds?
a) Write an equation that models the situation.
b) Solve the equation using guess and check.

Answer:

a) 21m - 0.87 = m

b) m = 0.0435 mg

21(0.0435) - 0.87 = 0.0435

0.9135 - 0.87 = 0.0435

0.0435 = 0.0435

True statement, so correct

c) 21m - 0.87 = m

20m = 0.87

m = 0.87/20

m = 0.0435 mg

Answer: 0.0435 mg

Explanation:

Let x represent the amount of riboflavin in 21 servings of raw almonds.

Then, 1 serving = x - 0.87

and 21 servings = x

\underline{\text{Proportion:}}\\\\\frac{\text{servings}}{\text{riboflavin}}:(1)/(x-0.87)=(21)/(x)\\\\\\\\\underline{\text{Cross multiply and solve:}}\\\\21(x-0.87)=x\\21x-18.27=x\\20x\quad \qquad =18.27\\x \qquad \qquad =0.9135

1 serving = x - 0.87

= 0.9135 - 0.87

= 0.435
