Explanation:

We can find the area of the figure by find the area of the square and the semicircle and adding together

First the square

A = s^2 where s is the side length

A = 14^2 = 196

Then the semicircle

A = 1/2 pi r^2 where r is the radius, we take 1/2 since it is 1/2 of the circle

r = 1/2 d where d =14 so r = 14/2 =7

A = 1/2 pi (7)^2

= 1/2 (3.14) *49

76.93

Add the two areas together

196+76.93

272.93 m^2
