Is Colonialism a good thing to learn about why or why no give good explanation

It’s good to learn about the effect colonialism had on our society and how some people benefited from it (ex. Europeans) by occupying and exploiting another country’s resources and how it destroyed some society’s (ex. The Indigenous people of America). It also helps us have a better understanding of who and what is around us and develop solutions to problems that hinder equality.

Colonialism, in my opinion, was a terrible thing. It was good for the colonizers, but it was awful for the colonized country and people. The problem is that colonialism was founded not just to "import" civilization to those who thought to be barbarians, but also to allow settlers to steal as much as they wanted.
