A triangle has side lengths of 6 in, 8 in, and 10

in. If it is dilated with a scale factor of 1/2, what
are the side lengths of its image?

Answer:

6*1/2= 3

8*1/2= 4

10*1/2= 5

( Since 1/2 is a fraction and it's less than 1, the shape will be dilated smaller than its original . )

Explanation:

When you're using Dilation, the formula is (Kx,Ky) as the scale factor is K.

So, since we know what the scale factor is: 1/2--

you have to multiply 1/2 with each side length... also considering that I don't see an x or y in this case. You're gonna just, as i've just said, multiply 1/2 with them.
