Explanation:

(Mx2+nx1)/(m+n) & (my2+ny1)/(m+n)

Where the point divides the segment internally in the ration m:n.

(1)(2)+(3)(7)/(1+3), (1)(5)+(3)(4)/(1+3)=23/4+17/4=23/4,17/4
