Length = 9 units

Explanation:

Step 1;

Let us consider that Width be W , Length be L and Area be A.

Area of Rectangle (A) =
L * W units

Where, L = Length of Rectangle

W= Width of Rectangle

Step 2:

Here, L =L units

W= L-7 units

A= 18 units

From the Basic Formula, A= L
* W units

A = (L-7)
* L

18 =
L^(2) - 7*L

For further simplification

L^(2) -7*L-18=0

On simplifying Length (L) = 9 units

Width (W) = L-7= 9-7 = 2 units

The width of a rectangle is 7 units less than the length. The area of the rectangle-example-1
