The correct answer is individualistic
According to Bauman (2001), modernity is a time when social life starts to focus on the existence of individualism, it is a phase marked by an expansive autonomy of man in relation to social life. For him, the emergence of members as individuals becomes a mark of a modern society. (Bauman, 2001: 39). Modern man denies any subordination link with social institutions, thus abdicating the beliefs, rules and values imposed by them, guided by his personal vision.
At this moment, the dissociation between individual and society takes place, that is, it is the concrete appearance of individualism based on equality and freedom, following the bias of liberalism, which preaches egalitarianism and individuality as a way to break free from the domination of social institutions. Dumont also talks about this freedom and explains "the fundamental principles of the constitution of the State (and of society) must be extracted, or deduced, from the properties and qualities inherent in man, considered as an autonomous being, regardless of any and all social ties or political."
