The measure of angle x is 64°.

Solution:

Given JK and HI are parallel lines.

m∠K = 60°, m∠H = 56°, m∠A = x°

If two lines are parallel, then the corresponding angles are congruent.

⇒ m∠I = m∠K

m∠I = 60°

Sum of the angles of a triangle = 180°

⇒ m∠I + m∠H + m∠A = 180°

⇒ 60° + 56° + x° = 180°

⇒ 60° + 56° + x° = 180°

⇒ 116° + x° = 180°

Subtract 116° from both sides of the equation.

x° = 64°

The measure of angle x is 64°.
