3x2=6
6+12x+6=0
combine like terms
12+12x=0
subtract 12 on both side
left with 12x=-12
divide 12 on both side
x= -1

Answer:

-2 + sqrt(2)

-2 - sqrt(2)

Explanation:

3x² + 12x + 6 = 0

x² + 4x + 2 = 0

Use the quadratic formula:

[-4 + sqrt(4² - 4(1)(2))]/2

-2 + sqrt(2)

[-4 + sqrt(4² - 4(1)(2))]/2

-2 - sqrt(2)

sqrt: square root
