How do the details in this passage support the author’s purpose?

Answer:

The more details, the more understanding of the purpose. If they don't include details how are you suppose to know what the purpose of writing the passage is for? If they are informing, they need facts and details about the topic so you get informed. If persuading, they need opinion and reasons why you should do something. If they are entertaining they need more details on the excitement of the passage.
