Other countries have a similar system with better well-fare politics, whereas the US has not. However, the US has a lighter tax policy than many capitalistic countries, and that is seen as an advantage in many ways. We could talk about many points but the bottom line is the same; no system is perfect, but it tries to be, at least in theory.
