At Pack-and-Ship there are large boxes with the dimensions 3.75 ft long, 3 ft wide, and 3.25 ft high. A customer wants to ship several small boxes 1/4 ft long, 1/4 ft wide, and 1/4 ft high. What is the maximum number of small boxes that will fit in one large box?

Answer:

2340 boxes

Explanation:

Volume of large boxes will be given by the product of length, width and height hence 3.75*3*3.25=36.5625

Volume of small boxes will be given by 0.25*0.25*0.25=0.015625

Number of small boxes will be equivalent to the quotient of volume of large boxes to small boxes volume

Number= 36.5625/0.015625=2340 boxes
