Explain why the following scenario fails to meet the criteria for proper reverse engineering.

Terrence has just taken apart a 1982 microwave to see how it works. As he took apart the microwave, he spread its components all over the floor. He did not document the process, so now he has no idea how to reassemble it, and he is confused about how all of the pieces function together.
