The real solutions to the function is x = ±5 .

f(x) = x^2-9x+20

​Step 1: 9±−92−4(1)(20)√2(1)

Formula is :
x = (-b + √(b^2-4ac) )/(2a)


x = (-(-9) + √((-9)^2-4(1)(20)) )/(2(1))


x = (9 + √(81-80) )/(2(1))

​Step 2: 9±−81−80√2


x = (9 + √(81-80) )/(2(1))


x = (9 + √(1) )/(2)

Step 3: 9±−161√2

Mistake here is instead of subtracting , 81 & 80 are added!


x = (9 + √(1) )/(2)


x = (10)/(2) = 5

More precisely , x = ±5

Wrong statement!
