The value of x is 5

Solution:

The slope of a line is given by formula:

Slope = ( y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

From given,

slope = \frac{11}4}\\\\(x_1, y_1) = (x, -7)\\\\(x_2, y_2) = (-1, 4)

Substituting the values we get,

(11)/(4) = (4+7)/(-1-x)\\\\-11 - 11x = 11 * 4\\\\-11-11x = 44\\\\11x = -11-44\\\\11x = 55\\\\x = 5

Thus the value of x is 5
